The Llaingoch area of Holyhead holds an Annual Summer Flower and Produce Show every August at Holyhead High School In 2002 the Society celebrated their their 50th Annual Summer Show!The show was started by quarry men working at what is now the Holyhead Breakwater Country Park, from its humble beginnings the show grew to include birds and caged animals.Now, however the Show’s 200 classes are for flowers, garden produce,art,handicrafts and cookery. The show is open to members and non-members alike and the classes are for novices and specialists alike. One section of the show is for novices only, whilst another class is for the heaviest onion with mammoth 5lb onions being placed on the show bench! The 2004 show broke new ground as the Llaingoch and District Horticultural Society twinned with the South Dublin (Dun Laoghaire) Horticultural Society,receiving generous sponsorship from both Irish Ferries and Stena Line in connection with the produce show.
