Holyhead lifeboat receives smart water kit from friendly PC
Holyhead, Moelfre, Beaumaris, and Trearddur Bay, are to benefit from a unique coding system to help protect the charities lifesaving equipment. This is all down to, PC David Owen who was as a policeman aware that vital safety equipment was stolen from Holyhead seven class lifeboat. David set about raising funds over the next 18 months to buy the Smartwater kits for the Anglesey stations to help protect the vital safety equipment, The colourless liquid solution called Smartwater, which is dabbed on to valuables to identify them if they are stolen. Funding from the Holyhead and District Round Table will also purchase warning signs to be erected at the lifeboat stations to deter would-be thieves. A big thank you to PC David Owen and local police and the roundtable for all their help and kindly donating the Smartwater kits and warning signs to the four RNLI lifeboat stations. pictured bellow pc David Owen coxswain brain Thomson Gareth Owen and Ian James lifeboat mechanic Ray Steadman Crew Member and Press Officer the Holyhead Lifeboat.
