LAND RECLAMATION
  on SALT ISLAND HOLYHEAD

  HOME

SITE MAP

On February 5th 2001 work began on reclaiming 11 acres of the Irish Sea around Salt Island in Holyhead in a ten million pound project.
A rock armoured retaining was was built on the east side of Salt Island between the island and Admiralty Pier.
The land will provide parking space for terminals 3 and 4 at the port.  Existing berths for the terminals have been
upgraded with new dolphins, fenders and walkways to cater for Stena's newest ship in the port of Holyhead - the 24 knot Stena Forwarder.
