Parti Dawns Lan Mor go to Colorado
The traditional Welsh dance team took off from Gatwick airport on 4th April 2000
to their destination in the USA! Ten very excited girls - Rachel, Stacey, Kelly, Charlotte, Emma, Victoria, Sarah,
Natasha, Stephanie, and Kelly Williams aged 14yrs down to 7yrs, along with Mary and her husband Bill and the girls' parents, couldn't wait to get to Colorado! They were greeted by Father Bill MacMillan with whom they stayed in Evergreen, at Denver International Airport, and followed him home to the Retreat House. Barbara, his wife was waiting for them with some beautiful home made food.
Over the next fortnight they attended many venues,
arranged by David and Kathy Ramussen of BREEZY
TRAVEL in Evergreen, and Thomas Glassburn and Carrie Smith of Denver.
The Parti Dawns Lan Mor danced and sang at
EVERGREEN KIWANI's CLUB
SENIOR's RESOURCE CENTRE
MERIDIAN RETIREMENT HOME
FRIENDSHIP FORCE EXCHANGE CLUB
EVERGREEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
and the Children's MUSEUM OF DENVER
They also taught members of Evergreen WELSH SOCIETY to dance a traditional Welsh Dance. They did very well! Then following day, they entertained the Welsh Society. The also met the children and danced for them at Primary (Elementary) schools in Evergreen. In the Kiwani's Club each member of the team were given a signed book
"evergreen our mountain community"
by the author Barber Sternberg.
They were invited to see a performance of the "Damn Yankees" which they thoroughly enjoyed, and they were also invited to see a schools performance of "Beauty and the Beast", and 42nd Street.
A very special THANK YOU to Dr. Berwyn Jones of the Welsh Society, Father Bill and Barbara Macmillan, David and Kathy Ramussen,
and Tom and Carrie for making this wonderful experience possible.
DIOLCH YN FAWR!!!
