  The Holyhead Leisure Festival was held of Friday 29th July, Saturday 29th July and Sunday 30th July in 2006.
    Crowds gathered in Newry Beach for the event which is a very popular annual venue for locals and visitors alike.  The Committee headed by Mrs Joyce Stallman work hard each year to make the event a success and this year was no exception.
      There was lots going on this year. 
      On Friday at 1:15pm there was the Best Craft Product and Best Craft Stall sponsored by T R Jones Valley.  Then a FLY PAST by RAF VALLEY.  This was followed by the official opening of the Festival.  In the evening the Holyhead & District Round Table presented an Evening of Comedy Cabaret with Comedian Vince Early (Brookside), Andy Stine as Neil Diamond. 
        On Saturday at 11am there was a Festival Parade , and Visiting Queens & Court Competition sponsored by the Newry Community Centre.  Local Majorette Troops displayed their dances sponsored by Anglesey Aluminium.  Then in the main tent at 12:30 was the Mini Melfest with Local Bands until 5pm.  At 2pm there was a sponsored Fire Engine Pull for Charity. Also an all day car boot sale, and in the evening in the Main Marquee and Irish Evening with "The Dublin 4".
        On Sunday at 10am was the Majorette Championships sponsored by the Co-operative Group, followed at 12pm by Children's Fun Time.  Then at 1:30pm Lumberjack display by Bwyellwyr Gwynedd.  At 2pm was the Annual Breakwater Race with More from Bwyellwyr Gwynedd at 3pm.  A Bonny Baby Competition followed at 4pm and to round off the evening a Festival Quiz and Superbrain Competition at 7pm!        There was also a Craft Fair, Simon's Fun Fair, Army Displays, Charity and Market Stalls, Bouncy Castle, Bucking Bronco, Bar and Refreshments!
