Well the answer is YES - with the aid of a snorkel or an aqualung,and believe me the effort is well worth it especially with the blue flag beaches which HOLYHEAD is proud to offer. The safe clear water is essential for an islander like myself....come and see for yourself, and meet the wanders of the deep face to face. As a trained SCUBA diver, I have to admit that I do enjoy the ease, and unrestricted freedom of snorkeling, arrive at the beach, straight into the water (temperature permitting ofcourse). There are some great bays and coves to discover, the best being on the south side of the island, with Porthdafach, Porth y post, Ravenspoint, being the popular ones,but there are some hidden gems that I know of, and for YOU to dicover...Happy hunting!!
