As you enter Holyhead, you can clearly se the tower of the Ucheldre Centre on top of the hill.  In Welsh "uchel dre" means "high town".
A former convent chapel, the Ucheldre Centre has been transformed and extended into an Award Winning arts and exhibition centre, offering a host of activities to cater for everyone throughout the year.  The Ucheldre Centre is one of the jewels in the crown of Anglesey.  It always provides a high quality exhibition, and there is often an accompanying demonstration, talk, or workshop. Exhibitions have ranged from the work of local artists and crafts people to such famous names a Picasso and Chagall
