Irish Ferries new £26 million catamaran - the Dublin Swift arrived at Holyhead on 16th May for sea trials, having recently completed her 12,000 mile journey from Freemantle in Australia, where she was built.
This catamaran is Swift by name and swift by nature with a service speed of 39 knots (45 mph).  The journey from Holyhead to Dublin will take just 1 hour and 49 minutes!
She is made of marine grade aluminium, and is named after the famous author Jonathan Swift - who also had connections with Holyhead.  The Swift has a capacity of 800 passengers and 200 cars.
It has a state of the art design and technology, a beautiful interior decor which has Irish Ferries' own unique touches, and many passenger facilities which include;-

                                    Trinity Lounge
                                Poolberg Restaurant
                                      Temple Bar
                              Lilliput children's area
Television monitors and a cinema screen
A shopping mall dedicated to Swift shopping.

Seats are grouped around a central atrium and stage, where live entertainment is provided, behind which is a grand staircase with brass balustrading, leading to the upper lounge.  There are also two decks on the outside from where you can watch the vessel depart and arrive at Holyhead or Dublin ports.
