Kingsland School from September 2008:-
Mr Tristan Roberts took over as Headteacher in September 2008. In his first newsletter to parents, Mr Roberts stated that he was looking forward to the challenge of building on Mr Thomas' good work and maintaining Kingsland's reputation as a happy and successful school."
This letter is from Ysgol Kingsland's latest Prospectus:
Dear Parent
May I thank you for taking the time to find out about our school. Making a decision about which school is right for your child can be a difficult one but we hope that this handbook will help you make that decision and give you a flavour of Ysgol Kingsland and the opportunities that we provide here.
Ysgol Kingsland is part of the Ynys Môn (Anglesey) Local Education Authority. We are a primary school catering for pupils aged between three and eleven, situated in one of the most welcoming parts of Holyhead. Our children usually start full time education in the September following their fourth birthday, and stay with us until they are eleven. We also have a part-time Nursery class for three year olds, and an independent playgroup is also situated onsite for younger children.
Ysgol Kingsland has welcomed children from Holyhead and neighbouring areas for over thirty years. Built in the mid-seventies, our school building incorporates three main blocks all accessed from our school hall which acts as a focal point. We are fortunate that the school sits in grounds that provide ample opportunities for outdoor learning and sports.
At Kingsland we aim to provide the children with opportunities to broaden the base of their interests and an awareness of the world about them, enabling them to become stable, confident and well-rounded individuals. We strive to maintain a happy environment which fosters lively, motivated and interested children who not only have confidence in their own abilities but also harbour a considerate awareness of their peers.
Progress is closely monitored in order that extra help and encouragement can be given when and where it is needed.
