PROJECTS

The Celtic Gateway Project is one which will be      done in two phases, and is to cost around £7 million.
Phase one is a new bridge being build over Land's End Road.  It is  a direct pedestrian and cyclist link between the port and railway complex and the town's shopping and eating centre at Market Street.
Phase two will see the building of a 420ft causeway link bridge across the harbour.
The project has been awarded to the Laing 0'Rouke.
Overseeing the project will be Mr. Richard Hughes from the Company.  The Anglesey County Council in partnership with the WDA, Stena Line Ports Ltd, and the Holy Island
Partnership have developed this package, which has also    had support from the Welsh Assembly Government, Network  Rail and other major organisations.
It will mean that the town centre will be more accessible  to the 2.4 million people who pass through the port at Holyhead each year.
The project is part of a 20 million pound transport and    environmental package to improve roads into the port and move rail facilities.  It is also hoped that it will improve the town's economy and be a key factor in the regeneration of Holyhead
