Rock is tipped into the dry dock as the project to fill it in begins


Here we see the flood gate which used to be at the entrance of the dry dock. In the distance you can see that the entrance to the dock is almost filled with the rock.



Rock mined from an Anglesey quarry is tipped into the dock in early May 2001


May 7th 2001, and the dock's entrance fill-in is complete. Sand is now being tipped in at the far end of the dock burying the former flood gate.



May 23rd 2001 a membrane covers the wall built across the entrance to dry dock
now, in order to prevent water entering. Pic of the wall on the right was taken from
